Organic food in Germany

Consumers in Germany are increasingly buying organically produced food. A growing number of food companies and farmers in and outside of Germany are seeking to increase their production of organic food in order to to get at greater piece of the lucrative organic food market in Germany.

Bioland is Germany's largest organic farmers' association. The member of Bioland include farmers all over Germany and in South Tyrol in Austria. The Bioland farmers produce oragnic agricultural products like grain, vegetables, fruit, honey, hops, wine, milk, eggs and meat.

The Bioland farmers cooperate with food processors companies like bakeries, butchers, grain mills, dairies and breweries in other to produce products to trade partners and consumers. 84% of all consumers in Germany are familiar with the organic Bioland trademark.
