Malta Environment and Planning Authority (MEPA) is responsible for land use planning and environmental regulation in Malta. As a national agency MEPA is also responsible for the implementation of EU directives, decisions and regulations concerning environmental matters.
Malta Environment and Planning Authority acts as the national focal point in accordance with a number of international environmental convention and agreements including the Aarhus Convention. The Aarhus Convention secures public access to information, public participation in decision-making and access to justice in environmental matters.
